Sikkim Government Sanskrit College was established in the year 1997 at Gyalshing, West Sikkim. Its beginnings were modest, shaped by temporary spaces and limited means, yet sustained by the patience and perseverance that often accompany serious learning. For several years, the college functioned quietly, carrying forward the rich and diverse world of Sanskrit education with a strong sense of professional piety.
Despite its humble and modest beginnings, Sikkim Government Sanskrit College has come a long way. Its journey has not been marked by sudden turns or loud milestones, but by time, patience, and continuity. What stands before us today is not merely an institution shaped by years, but one shaped by continuities of language, of thought, and of faith in knowledge itself.
